Welcome to the City and County of San Francisco Index of Public Records. Inaugurated in February 2001, the index was developed by the General Services Agency as required by the Sunshine Ordinance.

The index is a database, designed to provide you with access to City records. To facilitate your search and retrieval of information, a contact name and telephone number is provided with each department schedule. This website continues to be a work-in-progress as we add departments and new information. We welcome your comments and suggestions.

The Index of Public Records and its website were developed in collaboration with the General Services Agency, the City Attorney's Office, the Department of Telecommunication and Information Services and the Graphics Services of the Reproduction and Mail Services.
